Kola.Market helps SMEs grow well. We leverage AI and other digital tools to provide marketing, consistent sales and blended finance  to SMEs across Africa. With Kola AI, we understand the buying trends and cash flow cycles of our partner SMEs, uncover smart inventory management insights and assign them credit scores that enable access to adequate financing. Our goal is simple: help SMEs sell out and grow their income. According to the World Bank, there is a $245 million financing gap for SMEs in Sub-saharan Africa. Approximately 75% of SMEs lack access to adequate financing. Globally, over $1 trillion is lost due to over stocking or understocking. Kola exists to close these gaps.

You'll work with the CEO and customers, engage with partners and customers, provide them seamless support, help them understand our value propositions and differentiators and retain them with Kola. In this role, you'll find and acquire new distributors, wholesalers and retailers and onboard them on the Kola app. You will provide critical feedback to product development and ensure minimum 90% retention of customers. You will work with the CEO to improve the product and service offering. You will keep customers happy by problem-solving and continuously informing them of existing and new value within Kola and more.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum Bachelor's Degree in any field 

  • 3 to 5 years experience in sales, marketing or relationship management 

  • Experience working with FMCGs in capacities such as Area sales manager, Territory Manager or any sales role that required direct interaction with distributors, wholesalers and retailers 

  • Experience leading a team of sales agents 

  • Experience using web analytics and social media monitoring/measurement tools

  • Expertise with running sales campaigns and activities to help SMEs drive revenue growth

  • Ability to develop deep understanding of Kola.Market’s overall business and customers

  • Excellent interpersonal skills, Outstanding negotiation and communication skills.

  • Customer centric - empathetic and willing to go the extra mile to ensure customer satisfaction

  • Analytical and able to draw insights from minimal data and by consistent engagement with leads and customers

  • Ability to problem-solve and work autonomously

Responsibilities

  • Work with wider Kola teams on a territory strategy to generate and develop business results in the territory and open up opportunities with National, Regional, and Local agencies and Higher Education customers for Google Workspace.

  • Meet directly in the field with customers and partners. Provide guidance and education to customers and partners to ensure closing and onboarding of new partners

  • Develop and maintain technical and conversational proficiency in the use of the Kola app. 

  • Develop fluency around Kola's business process, differentiator and value propositions, including analyzing potential in a territory, developing structured territory plans, quarterly reviews of key accounts to win throughout the year and involvement of cross-functional teams.
